By rutwij@iimb.ernet.in Rutwij
This book contains some of the most and absolutely fantastic stories I have ever read, and I have read a lot of stories! Get your hands on this book, and you'll never let go of it!, Thats a promise. Hitchcock surpasses himself in this anthology. He has managed to compile the most amazing stories into a most amazing book. Every last one of these stories has a gut-wrenching climax, which'll make you exclaim aloud, wohever, and wherever you are. A must-read.

Scary Stories
By Acute Observer
Alfred Hitchcock Presents: Stories to Stay Awake By

“The contents of this volume are designed to give you a bad evening. A very bad evening indeed.” These short stories should keep you awake or cause nightmares. “I am not certain the reason for this” (‘Introduction’). Why do some people like scary stories? One reason is to make you feel better with your ordinary life. This 1971 book has 466 pages for its thirty-five unnumbered chapters. The advantage of short stories is that you can don’t have to read the whole book to complete it. The ‘Acknowledgments’ lists the copyright dates, most are from the 1960s. The ‘Contents’ list each title and author. Here is the list. I read the stories in order. You may be familiar with some of the authors from their other works.
