Unusual diet book

This is an unusual diet book. It doesn’t tell you to change what you eat. Diet books generally focus on motivation and are vague on results. Even though Walsh was a NASA scientist, he doesn’t spend any time describing the scientific basis for how intermittent fasting works. Instead he focuses on results and shows you what happened, day by day, for 2 years. I find it much more motivating to know what result I can expect. It’s also very encouraging to see how fast you can shed the extra weight you pack on when you’ve been bad.

Loved this book!

I love this book! This diet is very similiar to Dr Bert Herring's Fast-5 diet, which is my favourite book on weight loss so by the way. Whereas Dr. Bert Herring recommends a 5 hour eating window in the evening, Edward Walsh recommends a 4 hour eating window in the evening. These two diets are essentially the same aside from the 1 hour difference in their eating windows. I've learned from experience (and from reading this book) that it is much easier to eat nothing during the day and have your main meal at night, than to eat a small snack for lunch. That small snack simply increases my hunger-levels and causes me to overeat for the rest of the day. When I eat nothing during the day, my hunger-levels are much lower and more tolerable surprisingly enough. This book explains why this is so. The way of eating that Edward Walsh and Dr Bert Herring describe is the only way of eating that makes sense to me. I've found their approaches also much more sustainable and lifestyle-friendly than any other diets that I've tried in the past. I highly recommend you read this book along with Dr Bert Herring's Fast-5 diet.
