Always a favorite

Dueling Hearts has been consistently one of my favorite kat Martin books. The story based in early Truckee, CA--features a fire haired heroine deperate to save the family ranch. This book could have so easily fallen into the trap of the "long standing family feud" but doesn't. Sam Brannigan is a hero that every woman dreams about and I have always thought that Ms. Martin should write a story for Sam's younger brother and future Senator Peter Branigan. Having grown up in the West the picture Ms. Martin paints of early timber towns is quite accurate. The touching ending ties everything together nicely. It is a "comfort food" sort of book. Enjoy!

It's a great book, as all of her books have been. However, you need to be aware there is a binding error. No fault of the seller. But you might want to ask them to check the book. When you reach page 152, there is a repeat of pages 129 - 152 and the same number of pages are missing. If you can bridge the gap, it's still a good book.

OK book, but not great.

O.K. book, but not great. I didn’t enjoy this book enough to pass it along to a relative or friend. The book takes place in the 1800’s, and is a Western setting, on a California ranch. The plot is good. However, I didn’t like the creepy guardian, Mr. Foley. I see others liked this book better than I did, so don’t let me stop you from reading it. I have enjoyed some books set in the West - Johanna Lindsey used to be my favorite author, and her Western setting books were very enjoyable - but this one just wasn't as good as I would have liked it to be.

I purchased this book, along with the other math books dealing with vocational and trade/craftsman math because I need more word problems and workplace examples for my adult math classes. The academic approach does not always reach those who look for math that means something to them, as in "What do I need to know this for?"

The project fulfills the need for a current, full-scale Greek lexicon in English, as the standard ninth edition (1925 40) of A Greek-English Lexicon, by Henry George Liddell and Robert Scott accessible via the Perseus Digital Library (CH, Jun'15, 52-5096) has not been completely revised for 65 years. About the Author
Franco Montanari is Professor of Ancient Greek Literature at the University of Genoa (Italy), Director of the "Rivista di Filologia e di Istruzione Classica," of the Centro Italiano dell'"Annee Philologique" and of the "Aristarchus" project online, and a member of numerous international research centers and associations. Apart from the "Vocabolario della Lingua Greca" he has published many other scientific works on ancient scholarship and grammar, archaic Greek epic poets and other Greek poets of the Classical and Hellenistic periods, including "Brill s Companion to Hesiod" (2009) and "Brill s Companion to Ancient Greek Scholarship" (2015)."
