Very Pleasant Read

Enjoyed this book. Both the hero and heroine had best friends that were funny and added to the story without taking away from the main characters. Funny dialogue and no horrible, awful, bitter fighting with stupid childish misunderstandings.

The CEO's Accidental Bride

Kaitlin Saville is being forced to leave the only real home she has had since before starting college. As an orphan with no family she had been uprooted a lot in her life. She would just like to have a sense of history, of belonging somewhere, and she thought she had that in her apartment in New York. She had learned from her childhood that if she was very good people wouldn't give her away. So losing her job and her apartment makes her feel like she is being given away once again. She needs to prove herself as being good at something so that someone will keep her.

Zach Harper, the CEO of the company that inadvertently caused Kaitlin to be fired is informing her that their marriage is legally binding. The fake marriage ceremony that they had participated in Las Vegas didn't stay in Las Vegas. He needs her to sign the divorce papers and he will make it worth her while. Kaitlin seeing an opportunity to rebuild her architectural reputation blackmails him into giving her a job. Zach and Kaitlin agree that this won't be a real marriage, but one of convenience until they both get what they want. Who will be able to outmaneuver, outlast, and outplay the other to be the last one standing? Let the games begin.

The CEO's Accidental Bride is a lively, absorbing tale with a manipulative hero who meets his match in a sassy heroine. I enjoyed the chemistry between Zach and Kaitlin, the way they tried to one up the other; I also enjoyed the down to earth aspect of their personalities. These two flirted so well together that you were cheering for them to finally come together. I liked the way Zach ultimately changed Kaitlin's mind about the building, yes it was a bit manipulative. Zach opened himself up on another level and let Kaitlin see why she shouldn't change the building so dramatically. It was almost the only thing that would work on someone who placed so much value on heritage.

The CEO's Accidental Bride had the characters noticing and embracing their differences in each other. Both characters changed over the course of the book as well as growing to love one another. Kaitlin had been more selfish to begin with looking to prove herself to others so that they would keep her. Zach learned to compromise without giving up who he really is; perhaps even sacrificing a piece of his company too. The CEO's Accidental Bride actually made me a bit misty because of what Zach did for Kaitlin. I, for one, look forward to Ms. Dunlop's next romance

Just Ok, bit boring

This book had so much potential. Somewhere along the way it became tedious and boring. I forced myself to finish reading it, but I really didn't care about the ending one way or the other.

To be fair I don't usually enjoy when a big part of the story is based on getting revenge. This book was unique in that it was the h in the position/ having power to get revenge on the H.

I thought Katie was immature and selfish and Zach was no prize either.

The best friends of main characters.. start out as great supporting characters, they were funny and added to the story. BUT as the story continued I found them a distraction... I actually cared more about the supporting characters.

Just okay read. If you read, please let me know your thoughts.

GREAT SELLER- HORRIBLE BOOK

GREAT SELLER- HORRIBLE BOOK- needed it for classes. Rating is only 5 stars since I don't want to hurt the rating of the seller who was great to deal with- I highly recommend the seller. Otherwise it would have been less than one star if possible.

The author, Bohr, has no clue and disparages what he doesn't understand as far as the pre-Vat II Thomistic manualists. Here is a great article that explains why Bohr's position is boorish. http://edwardfeser.blogspot.com/2010/03/scholastics-bookshelf-part-iii.html
One questions if Bohr ever read some of the works he criticizes and understood them.You can't really critique something you do not understand. Setting up a strawman to attack and giving it the name of your opponent isn't an intellectual engagement. Its just preening one's vanity and trying to impress others by attacking the reputation of others by refusing to engage in their thought. Aside from that aspect he has no clue on other basic issues of church history and the development of doctrine but that alone is enough to indicate his level of scholarship on the issue of moral theology. Having said that the professor of the class is nice- I'm just not a fan of the fallacious arguments presented in Bohr's book. This is not intended to be a personal attack on the author but only on some of the positions he puts forth in the book which are deficient.

The author, rector of Pius X Seminary in Dalton, Pennsylvania, and teacher of Moral Theology at the University of Scranton, intends to give an introduction into Catholic Moral Theology as it presents itself today in relation to the richness of Tradition. He lays fundament not in impersonal laws but in the loving relation of the redeemed person in Christ towards the Holy Trinity and the Body of Christ, the Church. David Bohr pleads for a rediscovery of symbolic consciousness in prayer and worship, and also in theological thinking and research. This also seems to be the best way for an approach to Scripture and Tradition, under the guidance of the Magisterium of the Church. Such moral theology is integrating all the right insights of theological thinkers, whatever theological directions they represent, for: "No one of us totally comprehends the truth, but we can all aid one another in coming to understand it more fully." Special questions are dealt with exemplary and concern "Sexual Ethics", "Bioethics" and "Catholic Social Teaching". About the Author

Norman Flynn was the Director of the Centre for Financial and Management Studies, SOAS, University of London.  He was previously been Chair Professor of Public Sector Management at City University of Hong Kong and  held academic posts at London School of Economics, London Business School and the University of Birmingham.

 He has written about public sector management in the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia, public sector reform in developing countries and about the relationship between business government and society in Asia. Recent books include Public Sector Reform: An Introduction (European Commission); Public Sector Management (Sage, London); The Market and Social Policy in China (edited with Linda Wong) (Palgrave Macmillan); Miracle to Meltdown in Asia: Business, Government and Society (Oxford University Press) (last two both translated in Chinese), and (with Franz Strehl) Public Sector Management in Europe (Pearson).
