What You Won't Do For Love

With this world turning on mostly misery, there is a need to have God in your life to help go thru life's trials and tribulations.
But what happens when couples come together for the purpose of marriage? Each bringing their own personal issues to form a holy union. Do you think counseling is necessary, or do you believe you can work your issues between yourselves?

Christian Fellowship Church has formed a new ministry for couples offering therapy for those who seek it. But the president of one of the church clubs has an ulterior motive for this ministry. When you want something for the wrong reasons, does that make it right ?

Four couples from different backgrounds, ethinicities, and ages find themselves testing the boundaries of their faith as they enter to find their way back to what brought them together in the beginning.

The characters and their problems were issues that plague couples today. Their stories were well developed and seamlessly written. Michelle Larks has given us a book that has something for everyone to learn from or relate to. Being recently married myself, and in an interracial relationship, the situations and issues these couples faced made me glad that we had counseling individually and together for the right reasons. Putting God in the center of our lives and our relationship, focusing on solving and not blaming, communicating and remembering the vows you took, can make a problem seem not so overwhelming. Nothing can remove the problems of life's journey, but I found that the counseling better prepares you for the pitfalls or situations that may arise and make the journey less rocky.

When it comes to matters of the heart, the only sin is turning your back on it, and not giving it a chance and not believing God can do anything but fail!

Thank you so much for writing this book, its a execellent read, and keeps you turning pages until the very end.

This was a great story about 4 couples with different issus that come together in a christian based therapy that is being offered by a church. I enjoyed reading about Meesha Morrison who is a christian whose husband is working long hours and is avoiding his family so Meesha comes up with the idea of her church having couples counseling. It was a great read and I highly recommend.

Therapy Changes Things

At Christian Fellowship Church couples are struggling with issues beyond their control in Couples Therapy by Michelle Larks. Four couples agree to attend couples therapy, a new program at the church. While attending therapy these couples find out their strengths and weaknesses.

Meesha Morrison has a hidden agenda and it is getting her husband, Edward, to join in the therapy she has already committed them to. Meesha is determine to save her marriage but Edward has other plans.

Kenneth and Beverly Howard are at odds over their son Amir. Beverly's constant condoling of Amir has caused a rift in her marriage. When Amir is arrested after a major event, Beverly has no choice but to open her eyes and see her situation for what it truly is.

Julia is having trouble accepting her new Caucasian daughter-in-law. Douglas is trying his best to help his wife through this time as well as being there for his son, Brandon, and daughter-in-law Erin. Julia and Douglas agree to join the couples therapy at their church to help them adjust to the new changes in their life.

Brandon and Erin Freeman is a young newlywed couple expecting their first child. It has been hard for the couple to adjust to being married while living in Brandon's parent's basement. Erin is trying her best to get her mother-in-law to like her to no avail. Erin becomes ill and has to be rushed to the hospital. The birth of this child will change the Freeman's life forever.

Couples therapy is about family, forgiveness, and faith. We can do all things through Christ and these four couples faith will be tested. The author does a wonderful job including issues and problems married couples are dealing with every day. This will help readers relate to the characters and will have them feeling every emotion these couples go through. After reading Couples Therapy, I am so glad my husband and I attending therapy before we got married to prevent ending in therapy after being married. Once again, Michelle Larks has written a compelling book that many can appreciate. I recommend this book to others.

Great series. I'm glad I read it.

This is a solid series and one I highly recommend, unless you dislke the gory details of battle. Don't get me wrong, I don't "enjoy" those details, but when I'm reading about a battle I do want it told real. These are.

What I loved most about this book, though, was that there was more "other stuff" in this one than the others. I got to see more of the kind of person Jamie was, and the interactions between him and others in situations other than war was a large part of that.

I would give this a solid 4 1/2 stars.

The Black Douglas meets his fate

The third and final act of the life of Sir James Douglas is played out in "Not for Glory" by J.R. Tomlin. This is an excellent historical fiction account of the last years of a noble Knight and warrior. He died as he lived, on the battlefield not only with a sword in his hand but with the heart of the Bruce. Now that heart adorns every Douglas coat of arms in recognition of his dedication to King and Country.
Not for Glory picks up the life the Black Douglas at the end of the Scottish victory at Bannockburn. From here Sir James, his friends and King have a brief opportunity at a little peace, and the potential of actually having Scotland recognized as a free Kingdom again. Marriages occur, children are born, and lands are distributed, but peace is not to be. Although Sir James has an heir, he finds himself in a loveless marriage. As Douglas does on the battlefield, he finds a way to avoid defeat. He finds love in one of the Queen's ladies in waiting, as well as picks up his sword to stand by King Robert the Bruce as they take on the Pope, the French, the English, as well as a treasonous attempt by some fellow Scottish lords to keep Scotland from being free.
Not for Glory has a few typos and incorrect words that plagued the previous two novels in the trilogy but outside a need for more editing this book meets the mark.
Tomlin continues to capture the emotion and essence that very well could have been Sir James. He battles in love, family, government, and war. The battlefield scenes are real, the feelings vivid, and action real. The story ends with Sir James death in life as well as his birth into infamous immortality.
I encourage members of the Clan Douglas, historical novel readers, Scottish history buffs, and people who just love a good action book with real emotion and believable characters to read not only this book but also the whole trilogy. Sir James Douglas comes to life in all his flaws, struggles, victories, and glory.

BEST CARE PLAN BOOK EVER!!!

If anyone has had as much difficulty finding the perfect book as I have, they know whats up. So I literally spent 20 hours of research searching for the PERFECT care plan book. After my exhaustive study, I found this little dream of a book!! So why this one?? I chose this book because it gives you EVERYTHING you need to create an A+++ care plan. It includes disease processes, the nursing diagnosis related to the said medical condition, outcomes, and the best part- it includes both interventions with ALL the scientific rationales in an easy to read and fluent manner that makes writing up those dreaded care plans a breeze!! I would strongly recommend this book due to it's all inclusive style and really mean it when I say "This is the best care plan book ever". I bought the 2nd edition which was way cheaper than the newer version for pennies on the dollar and it is just as good as the one's my friends bought for $50 dollars. It's a must have and can be used for all area's of study as it includes Med Surg, Psych, Peds, and OB sections, so you can literally use it all through school!! I am thrilled and I usually don't leave reviews but I hope you take my word that this book is a MUST HAVE!! :)

This Nursing Care Plan book sucks. I bought this because the reviews were good but I have no idea why! There are limited care plans in here. I thought there would be a wide aray but that's not the case. The diagnoses I had to do weren't even in here for the particular disease process. A better recommendation is "A nursing handbook" by Betty Ackley & Gail Ladwig (8th edition)

I read this book years and years ago as a teenager. Yet many of the images and situations it speaks of have stayed in my mind clearly since, even something as simple as when the man washes in the cold river using the pebbles to clean his skin. I am not exactly sure why the story made such an impact upon me, perhaps it was the first book for a young reader that portrayed a person's struggle to figure out who he is in and to the world and himself.

Borland reminds me of Hemingway with his clear grasp of clean and crisp language.
The settings and characters are unforgettable.
